late, so quick:
1) Immortals
2) Puss in Boots
3) J. Edgar
4) Tower Heist
5) Harold & Kumar 3
(leaving that Sandler thing off- looks terrible and comedies have been weak lately- and doesn’t the title basically say it will tumble?)
1. Immortals
2. Puss –
Screw it. I was goingto type this all out, and I actualyl did have something different from BD (my 3 and 4 were switched compared to him) But I think that sincehis track record is better than mine . . . .
As far as Sandler’s movie, I’ll wager it doesn’t even make the top ten, let alone the top five.
Sorry, not offering to eat my hat. But if it lands in the top ten I’ll figure something out.
Oh, sorry . . . to make sure and be crystal clear (re-reading my first comment I decided it could be vague)
I am copying BD’s picks for the week.
last minute picks… of DOOM! I’m probably going to regret this…
1. Immortals
2. Puss in Boots
3. Jack and Jill
4. Tower Heist
5. J. Edgar
William- if your prediction about Sandler holds out, my faith in humanity will be improved.
But the current estimates make me think it won’t be as good a weekend. Still think your swap on 4 & 5 will prove out… good move (I hope) 🙂
FYI, I don’t know when you actually added the podcast to this post, but it’s not showing up in my iTunes. Not sure if it’s iTunes catching something or not.
By my count, the file was added about 14 minutes before you posted your comment, cougron. It’s likely iTunes hasn’t caught up yet. I’ll see about doing a manual call to iTunes to refresh its feed. Thanks for the heads-up!
The files just downloaded in my iTunes, so it’s in now.
And looking above, I think I mean 3 & 4 swap, but if the estimates hold, that won’t matter (tho it would with the original scoring system!)
Personally, I’m hoping that Puss moves up- kids movies are surely stronger on Sunday than Sandler. And then the picks of DOOM win! (that Tony stays farther away from #1 has _nothing_ to do with it! 😛 )
Scores are posted. I’m coming for you BD… inching closer.
This was a wild one, scores ranged from 25 to 10… and that was just the hosts!
it’s showing up for me now, thanks. I’d manually refreshed just before I posted and nothing came through so that’s why I posted. Thankfully I only lost two points this week I think.
Listening to this now– poke away, my whole post last week was me poking myself into what I was sure was a risky #1 pick. I thought it would be really close.
Jonathan– no, Tony didn’t cause my edit, that faceplant was all my own.
and Tony?
Bring it.
was relistening to the podcast this time in itunes and thought I would leave a note. A lot of the refugees from the box office mojo forum seem to have relocated to new forums at a site/blog named http://www.boxofficetheory.com
