Haven’t listened to the podcast yet, better put my picks out before I forget again. Feel kind of bad about it, I went for most of a year without missing any weeks and then I miss two in a row

1) Mission Impossible 4 – with onlyh one thing new coming out, and that being something I’ve never heard of before, theres no reason this won’t be on top.
2) Sherlock Holmes
3) Devil Inside – don’t know a thing about this one, can’t recall seeing one ad. Thinking it should do okay since there hasn’t been anything else new since christmas.
4) The evil–errr, that is I mean Alvin & the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked
5) The girl with the dragon tattoo

I don’t think Tinker, taylor, soldier spy or whatever it’s called will do good enough to break into the top 5.

A couple notes, b/c clearly I my need to type is too great- and I didn’t get to “play” with the hosts when they were recording.:(
So no ‘munks? Yeah, I refuse to do it again, they didn’t exactly burn me last week (that was my fault), but… it’s the f***ing ‘munks–they gotta be over. I’m calling it.
No Tinker/Tailor either. I sure wanna see it, but less than 900 theaters? A prescription for an risky pick- so leave it off. I kinda hope I’m wrong.

And THIS: Tony said he needed help, and I notice that the top movies post has gone away- SO, if Tony (and Andrew) want it, I’ll take a shot at it. I’m posting it open here not only b/c I think posting is more fun & open to all but so I can hear if everyone else thinks that’s a suck idea.
It’s still Tony’s call obviously and I can GUARANTEE there will be (at least) a touch more snark- maybe commentary on how the hosts did? Does that work, or cross into the voicemail show?
So yeah, I throw it out there. Don’t worry- Tony can yell at me in email, so go ahead here (Do I overstep? Let me know!)

And now the picks:

1) The Devil Inside- it’s the only new thing. And my friend who likes these movies is somewhat jazzed on it.. I have no idea who advertised this where, but apparently it’s got some kind of Paranormal Activity buzz. And I don’t wanna bet against PA, no matter how shitty & derivative the trailer looks.

2) MI4:GP- I may see this next Monday (if I can’t argue successfully for Hugo in 3D.) I also point out the last movie I saw was The Darkest Hour. Seriously. I twitter-reviewed it (so you should follow me!)

3) Sherlock Holmes 2- I’m waiting for video. Apparently w/o Avatar, no one else is.

4) Girl w/ the Dragon Tat- less fall than the usual 50 %. BTW, I liked it.

5) War Horse- again waiting for video, but I imagine my Dad wouldn’t. But the last movie he saw before Girl w/ Dragon Tattoo (which I took him too, b/c he loved the book) was from Narnia. Or: This one has legs.

Here are my picks:

1. Mission Impossible
2. Sherlock Holmes
3. Devil Inside
4. Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
5. War Horse

I’m completely freaked out that so many of you guys picked Chipmunks but hardly anyone picked Devil Inside!

Menolly’s picks for the weekend of January 6 – 8, 2012:
1. Mission
2. Sherlock
3. Devil
4. Tinker Spy
5. Alvin

And we’re all in at the Beast family…
