Back Seat Box Office #74

I hate doing this, but put me down for what Tony said. I’ m inclined to go along with Nick Cage kicking some ass this week as the Ghost Rider, followed by some Valentine’s day mojo pulling the Vow along for another week. This Means War, while a guy-friendly V-Day movie, I think will pale next to Ghost Rider, but still do so-so due to a mid-week release. Safe House & Journey 2 seem to be safe picks for a broader audience. So,

1) Ghost Rider
2) The Vow
3) This Means War
4) Safe House
5) Journey 2

1) Ghost Rider – Nick has been making some bad movies lately but some of them have been fun despite the bad so I expect quite a few are still wanting to see what he’s in. Plus, it’s Ghost Rider.
2] The Vow – I expect a lot of post-valentines attendance but it’s going to quickly fall off after this. It could remain number one, but I’m taking a chance that GR will edge it out this week.
3} Safe House – seems pretty safe to house this pick here…
4| This Means War – The commercials don’t look too bad… taking a chance that this will do well enough for fourth
5 > Journey 2 – the bottom of the charts. I think the third film should star nicholas cage. seems somehow appropriate.

I would LOVE for Arrietty to make the list, preferrably in the top 2. Unfortunately I’ve got a feeling it’s not going to do well enough to make it.
