  1. Normally when you have a PG movie openening up against an R movie, always bet PG. But Prometheus has been receiving lots of hype though. Enough to push it to the top? Looks like it’s going to be close. Since that’s the only one of the two I want to see this weekend, I’ll take a chance and put it on the top of my list. Everything after that is pretty much last week -2…

    I don’t think Prometheus has a wider appeal then Madagascar 3. Plus M3 is in more theaters.

  3. The Friday estimates have Prometheus and Madagascar 3 with a $950,000 difference… this should be interesting once the weekend’s over.

    1. Keeping in mind that Prometheus had a midnight screening total of $3.5M+, I think that MIGHT give the short term lead to Madagascar 3. Should be interesting to see how things shake out later this afternoon.
