and my pick for indie Art’s House is: Hours

Mrs. Beast’s picks for the weekend of December 13 – 15, 2013:
1. Hobbit
2. Frozen
3. Catching Fire
4. Madea
5. Furnace

Ok, so to post here, before I forget and it’s 6pm tomorrow….

1) The Hobbit part 2- duh. Go HFR! Gonna see it tomorrow…

2) Madea Christmas- Madea pics open reliably at about $25 or higher on a similar screen count.

3) Frozen- thought hard about making this #2, but it’s losing screens and had a large drop last week. Unusual, given all the toys & marketing, so it could still squeak up a notch.

4) Hunger Games: Catching Fire- a solid lock for #4.

5)Thor 2- a tough pick. Out of the Furnace seems like the obvious choice, but I worry it”l fall hard in its second week,\and Thor is right behind (though that’s 3 arguably-same genre films in my top 5.) Would not at all be surprised to see some indy movie like Nebraska or All is Lost end up here- the bar is low, at ~$2 million, or less….

Art’s House pick (I remembered!): American Hustle. the Mr. Banks movie will probably do better overall, but not on per screen average, I think.
