Picks for this week: I have no real sense how Larry Crowne and Monte Carlo are going to do. I’m either going to get this right and continue my streak (but somehow not climb up in the leaderboards) or bomb spectacularly:

1) Transformers – The reviews may be bad but a lot of fans are going to want to get their fighting-robot-porn fix in the first week regardless. I suppose Cars 2 can remain on top and Transformers come in second but I have a heavy bias for first week releases sometimes.
2) Cars 2 – If the boys aren’t forcing their parents to see Transformers, they’ll be going to this one. A lot will want to go to both.
3) Larry Crowne – I might be overrating this but a lot of people like Tom Hanks and Juilia Roberts. Put them in a movie together, winning! Thing is, the previews don’t really make this look very compelling to me.
4) Green Lantern – this one will stay in the top five by shear will…
5) Monte Carlo – I’m real iffy on this one. I’d prefer super 8 staying in the top 5

wow. I somehow managed to put my picks on the wrong post. Oh well, shouldn’t make too much difference.
