Another week of total crap shoot, and I’ll admit, I’m flat-out guessing here (with a side of defensive pick placement):
1) The Help – maybe #2, probably not.
2) Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark – maybe #1, probably not, but close enough that I won’t get Conan-ed on points like I did last week.
3) Rise of the Planet of the Apes – – maybe #2, or #3, or even #4-5. I pick #3.
4) Our Idiot Brother – could easily do worse (and I doubt better), and I’ll be damned if I’m putting Smurfs in my top 5, so this gets #4.
5. Spy Kids 4D- I really expect Colombiana to be #5, but I have a feeling I can’t shake that she could also be somewhere quite lower. I expect SK4D to be about 6th, so I’ll take the point loss (and see what I said above about ****ing Smurfs)

OK, It’s time to be bold. I was going to try and be conservative and just realized I get that way every other week, and go a little nuts every other week, and it hasn’t been going well. so I’m going to try to break the cycle by being nuts this week also.
My picks for the weekend of August 26 – 28, 2011:
1. Our Idiot Brother
2. The Help
3. Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark
4. Rise Of Apes
5. Spy Kids
Yes, I realize my #1 pick could well be my Dylan Dog, but I think we are woefully short on stupid comedies at the moment – Smurfs has passed on ( I hope)
Spy kids could also bite me, but I don’t think so.
And yes, I didn’t put Colombiana in my top 5 ( I wonder how many will misspell that), but it looks too much like a cash in on the Hanna bandwagon.
so here’s to idiotic chances!!
