My picks for the weekend of March 9 – 11, 2012:
1. Lorax
2. John Carter
3. Project X
4. Act Of Valor
5. Safe House

I almost put silent house as #5 (which would make my picks the same as Andrews), but then I realized I could get really burned by silent house. So safe house is my safe pick,

I am the lorax and I speak for the scores have no tongues, but if they did they’d say I kick your butts!

2. John Carter
3. Silent House
4. Project X
5. A Thousand Words

got busy with errands this morning and **** near forgot to do this!

1) Lorax- I hate to do this, but it’s a kids movie, once you factor in the multiple ticket sales I can’t say JC(ofM) will top it. As much as I wish I could
2) John Carter (of Mars)- that’s not saying that this wasn’t a great movie, and will do well. Too bad Hollywood & the press are spinning as as disaster- it certainly is not.
3) Project X- I don’t see this falling past 50%, so about $10 million.
4) Silent House- I was going to go safe (house) like father beast but the hosts pointed out that horror fans show up whether the movie’s any good or not. A sub-$10 million sounds about right.
5) Act of Valor- I think John Carter (or Mars) drains this and Safe House of audiences, but Safe House is older and more likely to lose more audience. Both should be around $4-5 million (and I’m hoping that at least that much shows up for Silent House)

Sorry Eddie Murphy, but I bet on Wanderlust a couple weeks back and that burned me— and that movie was only held up a couple MONTHS.
