Weekend Box Office: Nov 22-Nov 24

#1 The Hunger Games: Catching Fire from Lionsgate opened at #1 with a gross of $158.1 million in 4,163 theaters.  Budget was $130 million.

#2 Thor: The Dark World from Buena Vista fell from #1 to #2 with a gross of $14.2 million (-61.2%) in 3,713 theaters (-128).  Total gross to date is $167.9 million.  Budget was $170 million.

#3 The Best Man Holiday from Universal fell from #2 to #3 with a gross of $12.5 million (-58.5%) in 2,041 theaters (+17).  Total gross to date is $50.4 million.  Budget was $17 million.

#4 Delivery Man from Buena Vista opened at #4 with a gross of $7.9 million in 3,036 theaters.  Budget was $26 million.

#5 Free Birds from Relativity rose from #4 to #5 with a gross of $5.4 million (-33.8%) in 3,071 theaters (-439).  Total gross to date is $48.7 million.  Budget was $55 million.

#6 Last Vegas from CBS Films fell from #3 to #6 with a gross of $4.4 million (-48.3%) in 2,926 theaters (-311).  Total gross to date is $53.9 million.  Budget was $28 million.

#7 Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa from Paramount fell from #5 to #7 with a gross of $3.4 million (-53.7%) in 2,625 theaters (-565).  Total gross to date is $95.4 million.  Budget was $15 million.

#8 Gravity from Warner Bros. fell from #6 to #8 with a gross of $3.2 million (-47.4%) in 1,845 theaters (-715).  Total gross to date is $245.4 million.  Budget was $100 million.

#9 12 Years a Slave from Fox Searchlight fell from #8 to #9 with a gross of $2.8 million (-38.5%) in 1,474 theaters (+63).  Total gross to date is $29.4 million.  Budget was unknown.

#10 Dallas Buyers Club from Focus Features rose from #12 to #10 with a gross of $2.7 million (+53.4%) in 666 theaters (+482).  Total gross to date is $6.4 million.  Budget was unknown.

#11 Ender’s Game from Lionsgate fell from #7 to #11 with a gross of $2 million (-67.1%) in 2,035 theaters (-1,201).  Total gross to date is $57.2 million.  Budget was $110 million.

#12 Captain Phillips from Sony/Columbia fell from #9 to #12 with a gross of $1.8 million (-58.5%) in 1,656 theaters (-970).  Total gross to date is $100.7 million.  Budget was $55 million.

The combined gross of the top 12 movies this weekend was $218.4  million.
