#1 Thor: The Dark World from Buena Vista held at #1 with a gross of $36.6 million (-57.3%) in 3,841 theaters.  Total gross to date is $145.1 million.  Budget was $170 million.

#2 The Best Man Holiday from Universal opened at #2 with a gross of $30.1 million in 2,024 theaters.  Budget was $17 million.

#3 Last Vegas from CBS Films rose from #4 to #3 with a gross of $8.4 million (-23.5%) in 3,237 theaters (+155).  Total gross to date is $46.5 million.  Budget was $28 million.

#4 Free Birds from Relativity fell from #3 to #4 with a gross of $8.1 million (-27.1%) in 3,510 theaters (-226).  Total gross to date is $42 million.  Budget was $55 million.

#5 Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa from Paramount fell from #2 to #5 with a gross of $7.4 million (-34.5%) in 3,190 theaters (+3).  Total gross to date is $90 million.  Budget was $15 million.

#6 Gravity from Warner Bros. held at #6 with a gross of $6.1 million (-28.5%) in 2,560 theaters (-160).  Total gross to date is $240.4 million.  Budget was $100 million.

The combined gross of the top 12 movies this weekend was $118.8  million.
